Zodiac Island Privacy Policy
Zodiac Island and WeR1 World Network are committed to providing a fun and safe web site for children, and we recognize the particular importance of protecting privacy where children are involved. We have made every effort to ensure that our information collection practices and our privacy policy comply with the standards set forth in the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"). Our privacy policy sets forth the types of information we collect and how we will use that information. If you have any concerns about our privacy policy or practices, please contact us via e-mail
What types of information do we collect about children?
Children can surf our website, view content, and play games without any personal information being collected.
If the child is under the age of 13 and would like to register on the website in order to receive Zodiac Mail from ZodaicIsland.com, we request that the child provide a parent or legal guardian's e-mail address in addition to providing the child's first name and birthdate. As described below, we will then notify the parent (the term parent used throughout this policy is intended to include legal guardians) at the e-mail address provided by the child. This notice will inform the parent that the child desires to provide personally identifiable information to us. If the parent approves, the parent need not take any further action. The child will receive an email confirming their email address. When they click “confirm” they will begin receiving Zodiac Mail. Teens and Adults who are over the age of 13 will receive the same email.
If the parent disapproves, the parent should click “unsubscribe.” If the parent clicks unsubscribe the child will not receive Zodiac Mail.
While we ask for the child's birth date, we do not consider this information personally identifiable. We do not collect any other personally identifiable information from children during the Zodiac Mail registration process or at any other time. If your child does not enter a parent's e-mail, we will not retain or collect any of the information. Federal law prohibits us from conditioning a child's participation in online activity on the child's provision of more personal information than is reasonably necessary.
How do we use and share the personally identifiable information that we have collected about children?
We do not share any information about a child with any third parties unless the disclosure is reasonably necessary: to comply with law, including, for example, to comply with a court order or subpoena; to enforce our Legal Term & Conditions, or site or game rules; or to protect the safety and security of our Customers and our website.
When a child enters a friend's e-mail address on our site using our "Send" feature, the friend's e-mail address will only be used for the purpose of sending the requested "Send" communication at which point the friend receiving the email will be given the opportunity to sign up for Zodiac Mail and will be subject to this policy.
How do we notify and obtain consent from parents for the collection of information from their children?
We send parents an e-mail when their child completes a registration application at our site and we invite parents to unsubscribe their child if they wish when they receive this confirmation email. If the parent approves of their child receiving Zodaic Mail, the parent need not take any further action. The application will be accepted and the child will receive periodic e-mail updates about Zodiac Island! Please note that if the child does not provide a parent's e-mail address, we will not save or store any personally identifiable information that may have been given to us. The child will also not receive Zodiac Mail.
How can parents access, or delete personally identifiable information about their children?
At any time, parents may refuse to permit us to use the personal information we have collected from their child and may request that any personal information we have collected be deleted from our records. We use two methods to allow parents to access, or delete the personally identifiable information that we have collected from their children.
A parent may delete his or her child's personal information by choosing to unsubscribe their child, when they receive an email asking the parent to confirm or unsubscribe their child’s subscription to Zodiac Mail. This email will be sent to the parent shortly after the child completes a registration application at ZodaicIsland.com.
In the alternative, a parent can contact our customer service department to delete the personal information that we have collected from his or her child by sending an e-mail to
unsubscribe@zodiacisland.com.
When users visit our website, we automatically track and collect computer information of a non-personal nature to diagnose any potential technical issues with our server.
How will we notify parents if our Children's Privacy Policy changes?
We may amend our Children's Privacy Policy at any time. We will provide parents notice by e-mail of any material changes in the way we intend to collect, use, and/or share children's personal information. Please note that, at all times, parents should update their personal information to provide us current e-mail addresses. We will apply material changes in our Children's Privacy Policy only in conformance with applicable law, including any applicable provisions of the Children's Online Privacy Policy Act ("COPPA") that require parental consent.
Who do customers contact with questions or concerns about our Children's Privacy Policy?
